Tacrolimus is a potent immunosuppressive medication (calcineurin inhibitor) used in veterinary medicine chiefly as a topical ophthalmic solution or ointment to treat keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eye) in dogs. By suppressing local immune-mediated inflammation in the tear glands, it helps improve tear production and eye comfort.
