Royal Canin(R) Urinary SO is a veterinary-exclusive dog food dry formula developed to nutritionally support your adult dog's urinary tract and bladder health. This formula promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the formation of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals. It helps increase the amount of urine your dog produces to help dilute excess minerals that can cause crystals and stones. Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology is used to help lower ion concentration in urine, which contributes to stone formation. And this specialized nutrition, with a reduced level of magnesium, helps dissolve pure struvite stones and prevent struvite stones from forming. Lower urinary tract issues may be a recurring concern for some dogs. Talk to your veterinarian about keeping your dog on Royal Canin Urinary SO Dog Food for long-term urinary support.

This therapeutic canine diet utilizes a specialized mineral strategy to manage the bladder environment. It is a veterinary-authorized diet frequently considered for dogs presented with struvite or calcium oxalate crystals.

This is a veterinary-authorized therapeutic diet formulated to meet AAFCO nutritional adequacy standards. It requires authorization from a licensed veterinarian and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

At a nutritional level, it manages the concentration of minerals by promoting urine dilution and maintaining an optimal pH (S/O Index). Commonly observed effects include comfortable urination and reduced straining. Because it influences mineral balance, your veterinarian will monitor for observational signs of recovery. Owners should ensure constant access to fresh water and monitor for significant changes in urination.

Do I need a prescription?

Yes. Urinary SO requires professional authorization from a licensed veterinarian. Mixlab ensures all professional standards are met before dispensing.

How does this help with crystals?

Veterinarians discuss this formula because it manages the mineral environment of the bladder, supporting dissolving struvite and preventing new crystals.

Why is my dog urinating more?

This diet may support increasing urine volume to dilute crystals. Ensure your dog has frequent outdoor access and constant access to fresh water.

Can I give my dog treats on this food?

Most treats alter the urine pH or introduce minerals that trigger crystals. Only give snacks that have been specifically authorized by your veterinarian.

What signs should I watch for?

Important observational signs include blood in the urine or straining. If you notice these shifts, contact your veterinarian immediately for a clinical review.
