Itraconazole is a triazole antifungal used to treat systemic and superficial fungal infections, including blastomycosis, histoplasmosis, cryptococcosis, and dermatophytosis (ringworm). It is commonly used in dogs and cats due to its broad antifungal coverage and improved safety profile compared with older antifungals.
