Flunixin Meglumine is a potent NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) widely used in large animals, particularly horses and cattle, to alleviate pain, inflammation, and fever. Known commonly by the brand Banamine®, it is a first-line analgesic for equine colic pain and musculoskeletal injuries, and in cattle it’s used to reduce fever and inflammation in conditions like respiratory disease or mastitis, improving animal comfort and recovery.
Powder medications are meant to be mixed into food or treats, not given on their own (since most pets won’t lick up plain powder). The key is to mix it into something tasty so your pet eats the entire dose.
How to Give It:
Never give powder straight into your pet’s mouth—it can be dangerous if inhaled.
