Famciclovir is an oral antiviral medication commonly used in cats to treat feline herpesvirus (FHV-1) infections. It is prescribed off-label to manage conditions like chronic feline viral rhinotracheitis (upper respiratory infections) and herpetic eye infections by inhibiting viral replication, thereby reducing clinical signs such as sneezing, nasal discharge, and conjunctivitis in affected cats.
