Enulose® is a brand of lactulose solution, a non-absorbed sugar used as a laxative and ammonia reducer in pets. In cats and dogs, it is given orally to treat constipation by drawing water into the colon to soften stools, and in liver disease it helps trap ammonia in the gut and reduce systemic ammonia levels, thus aiding in the management of hepatic encephalopathy in affected animals.
