Eliquis (apixaban) is an oral Factor Xa inhibitor anticoagulant for dogs and cats. It works by blocking Factor Xa, an enzyme key to the blood clotting process, which helps decrease the body's natural ability to form blood clots. In veterinary protocols, it is used to manage systemic circulatory risks associated with cardiac conditions and hypercoagulable states.
